As a Partner at CDF, Teresa W. Ghali advises and defends California employers against class actions and single plaintiff claims in federal and state courts, as well as administrative proceedings before the EEOC, DLSE, and DFEH. Ms. Ghali is an experienced trial and appellate attorney who has defended corporate clients in employment, breach of contract, and insurance matters. Ms. Ghali has extensive experience in both jury and bench trials in state and federal courts throughout California.
Prior to joining CDF, Ghali practiced commercial litigation with the law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.
Ghali’s experience includes successfully defeating class certification, obtaining class decertification, and obtaining class settlements in numerous wage and hour class actions, and also defending against representative claims under California’s Private Attorney General Action (PAGA). Ghali also has extensive experience in single plaintiff discrimination and wrongful termination lawsuits. Ghali has successfully defeated single plaintiff suits at summary judgment and has also obtained favorable settlements for her clients prior to and during litigation. And as a volunteer Deputy District Attorney with in Marin County, Ghali independently prosecuted 5 jury trials and 1 bench trial to verdict.
